Itinerary

DAY 1: LAUNCESTON

Arrive in Launceston and spend the day leisurely exploring this historic city.

DAY 2: LAUNCESTON – FREYCINET (295 KMS – 3 HOURS 30 MINUTES DRIVING TIME)

Journey to St. Helens on George Bay and walk to St. Helens Point for stunning panoramic views of the coast and countryside. Next are Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park with its granite mountains, azure bays and white sandy beaches.

DAY 3: FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK

Spend the day exploring Freycinet National Park.

DAY 4: FREYCINET – RICHMOND (185 KMS – 2 HOURS DRIVING TIME)

Depart Coles Bay and head to Richmond, the oldest historic town in Tasmania.

DAY 5: RICHMOND – HOBART (191 KMS – 2 HOURS 15 MINUTES DRIVING TIME)

Follow the Arthur Highway to the historical area of Port Arthur, located on the Tasman Peninsula and home to over twelve thousand convicts between 1830 and 1877. Rejoin the Tasman Highway and towards Hobart.

DAY 6: HOBART

Return your Avis car this morning then explore the delights of Hobart. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch or take a tram tour. Stroll along Hobart’s historic streets, stopping to enjoy the many shops, cafés and restaurants.
